Easy To Prepare Low Glycemic Index Recipes

Everybody is talking about low GI foods. It's not really complicated to find food with low GI, and choosing it in your diet might ease your battle with extra pounds immensely. Low Glycemic index recipes don't have to be complicated, and can improve your health and the quality of life.

Low GI foods need more time to be processed by your body, and this makes you feel full for longer periods of time. This type of foods rise your blood sugar levels slowly, and you won't feel the energy boost right away, but you will have more energy and you won't be hungry. This means that you will be able to eat less and to lose weight faster.

All foods containing high levels of sugar, processed foods, sweet juices, white bread and similar products are bad for your health. Some other foods, rich in fibers, fresh, with low percentages of sugar, foods that need more time to be digested, provide more energy and suppress hunger. Nuts, vegetable oils and similar products have high energy levels, but low glycemic indexes.

Some foods, such as olive oil, or different tasty nuts, contain high energy levels, but low glycemic index. If you are concerned about your weight, you should not consume too much of them, but may include small amounts in your diet. These foods will make your meals tastier, and thanks to their low GI, they will make you full, and you won't be hungry.

Here is one easy to prepare recipe, really tasty and refreshing. Simply slice zucchinis and eggplants, season the slices with pepper and salt and grill them. In one bowl combine salt, cottage cheese, yogurt and chopped garlic. Spread this mixture on slices, roll them up and sprinkle them with good quality olive oil. These rolls taste great with fresh tomatoes, red peppers and cucumbers, one really great summer dinner.

Whole grain pasta with spiced tomato sauce is another practical and tasty recipe you can easily prepare. Fry garlic slices in olive oil, add chopped canned tomatoes, anchovies, capers, chopped olives, salt, pepper, oregano and chili powder. Serve with cooked whole grain pasta and salad.

Brown rice with chicken and vegetables is a very delicious meal that you will easily prepare. Cook brown rice. Cut the onions and mushrooms into thin slices, make thin strips of carrots, peppers, chicken, and zucchini, and cut garlic into tiny cubes. Fry it all together on olive oil, add salt and pepper, a little soy sauce and lemon juice. Serve with cooked brown rice.

When you want something sweet, here's a simple recipe. Remove the middle of a few apples. Mix one egg white, add two teaspoons of honey, two teaspoons of cinnamon, two teaspoons of stevia and one hundred grams of ground walnuts. Fill the apples and bake them in the oven. If you would like to add some flavor, you may add a few drops of rum.
